uautsapp

FAQ

Questions people ask

The short answers. The long ones are on the security and how it works pages.

Does it replace the WhatsApp app on my phone?

No. uautsapp is a linked device, like WhatsApp Web. Your phone keeps working as always; it has to be on and online now and then, as with any linked device.

Which Claude does it work with?

Any Claude that speaks MCP over HTTP: claude.ai and Claude Desktop through a custom connector, and Claude Code with one command. It is not the WhatsApp channel Anthropic offers — that is a different thing.

Can Claude send messages on its own?

Only if you approve a client, or create a token, with sending allowed. Even then there are limits per minute and per day, the same text cannot reach more than a few chats in an hour, every send is logged, and the tool itself tells Claude to confirm recipient and wording with you first.

Can my WhatsApp account be banned?

Yes, it can. uautsapp is an unofficial client, and WhatsApp's terms do not allow it for commercial use. We behave like a normal linked device to lower the odds, but we cannot make them zero. The full picture.

Does anyone at uautsapp read my messages?

No person does. Your conversations sit in a database only your workspace key opens. When support needs to look, the access is time-boxed, requires a second factor, and appears in your activity log.

Is it end-to-end encrypted?

Between your phone and uautsapp, yes — that is WhatsApp's own encryption between linked devices. On our server the cache is encrypted at rest with your workspace key, and is decrypted to be searched and handed to Claude. That is the trade-off: to be searchable, it has to be readable by the service.

Where do my messages go when Claude uses a tool?

The result of the tool goes to Claude — that is the point — and is handled by Anthropic under the terms of your Claude account. uautsapp sends nothing to Claude on its own; only what a tool returns, when Claude calls it.

How far back does it go?

As far as WhatsApp gives a new linked device — typically weeks to months. For the deeper past, export a chat from the phone and import it; the same message is never stored twice.

Groups? Status? Channels?

Groups, yes. Status updates and channels are ignored.

Can I keep some conversations out?

Yes. Exclude them in the settings: they are never cached, and anything already cached for them is purged.

What happens if I unlink the phone?

Syncing stops. The cache stays until you delete the workspace, so what was already there remains searchable.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?

The Business app links devices the same way, so technically yes. The same warning applies, only more so: a business number is exactly the kind of use WhatsApp's terms are about.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from the panel. The month you paid for runs its course, and then the workspace is deleted — cache, media and keys.

Two days free. Then one plan, no tiers.

The trial starts the moment Claude first connects — not when you sign up — so setup time is not on the clock.
